Syed Fazal Husain Shah (31 December 1901 – 28 September 1958) was a notable character of Sufism.[1] He was also a pioneering educator in his field and a highly popular religious personality within his tribe.[2]

Early age
Syed Fazal Husain Shah was born in a religious Sadat Mashadi family[3] in Birote. He received an education on the holy book Quran [4] from his father Syed Noor Husain Shah and a traditional education from the Mobile Educational Academy of Syed Massoom Ali Shah in Juleal and Birote. He was an intelligent fellow with great knowledge of the rational sciences. He attended the Government Vernacular Primary School Reala and then moved to a village school in Malkot [now(Union Councils of Pakistan|Union Council)] Malkot) in 1907, where he received the highest possible award, granted to the best students. He also passed the middle examination administered by Punjab University in 1916 and was appointed as a teacher at the age of 18 by the district educational authorities.

Family background
Fazal Husain Shah's ancestors moved to the Persian intellectual city Mashed soon after the fall of Baghdad in the 13th century. They migrated to India when Sher Shah Suri[5] established a dynasty after he defeated Mughal King Hamayoun[6] of Persia. The location of his tribe in India is unknown, but his forefather Jivan Shah came to Birote in the mid-20th century from Lora, near Hawailian. The people of Birote gave him a piece of land for cultivation, in exchange of his religious services to the people.
Descendants
Fazal Husain Shah had got married with Zulaikha Alvi, younger step daughter of Hazrat Molana Mian Pir Fakir-u-llah Bakoti in 1921, but she unfortunately tortured by his elder step brother Mir Ji Shah and her brothers got divorce forcibly. He remarried Hanifa Jan, the solo daughter of Molana Mian Mir Aalam Qureshi, in Birote Khurd. The couple had six sons and five daughters by 1952.

1. Elder son was Syed Muzafer Husain Shah, spent his life as an Islamic Scholar and a Sufi of his time. He was Inspector of Schools in Northern Areas of newly established Gilgit Beltistan province. He died in July 2003 and laid to rest at Kirpa, Rural Islamabad. He had three sons and four daughters. His son Mohammed Ali Shah is civil engineer by profession and the Holy Quraan scholar.

2.  Mumtaz H Shah is his second son and a traditional local retired teacher.
3. Third, fourth and fifth sons are Ghazanfoor, Iqbal H Shah[7] and Khurshid. Ibal H Shah is an educationist and running a Private school in Mansehra. He is also an Urdu poet. Iqbal H Shah have three sons Khalid H. Shah and others, all are engaged in NGO's social work.

4.     Sajad H. Shah was his younger son who got an accountant post in Auditor General of Pakistan [8] office with his long study and hard working in departmental examinations. He embraced orphonhood at age of only five years and survived with help of his elder brother Syed Muzafer Husain Shah. He died in 2012 by brain tumor and laid to rest in Kirpa, Rural Islamabad. He had four sons and a solo daughter (M Phil in Physics) and daughter in law of Iqbal H. Shah (Teacher in Girls Higher Secondary Sckool Bakote now), all are civil engineers.

Jeewan Shah,[9] his forefather, was given asylum by Dhund Abbasies[10] of Birote as a lone individual. He explained to the local people that he had killed his wife and escaped from his tribe. He wanted a family, so he sent his representative out to find him a wife. There were many religious families living in Circle Bakote as Gakhars[11] (Keani), Awan, Alvi Awans,[12] Qureshi,[13] Dhameals and Khakha[14] Bomba. He married into the Khakha family of the Birote Khurd, Jewan Shah, daughter in law and wife of Syed Noor Husain Shah. She gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Fazal Husain Shah was the elder son of the couple. First he married with Zulekha, step daughter of the Hazrat Pir Bakoti, then Hanif Jan Qureshi (daughter of Mian Qazi Mir Alam Qureshi, a Hashmi tribe of the Quresh family of Birote Khurd. His elder son, Muzaffer Shah, was the son-in-law of Molana Mohammed Saeed Kashmiri of Rewat, Murree. His elder daughter Saeeda Khanum (Died on 18 November 2013) was the life partner of Molana Mohammed Yousuf Awan of Birote Khurd. Other sons in law were Molana Mian Hakeem Mohammed Abdullah Alvi (Birote), Hakeem Qazi Zafeer ul Haq Alvi of Rawalpindi and Mohammad Abd ur Razaq of Sehr Hadote, Murree.[15] His sister Biwi Jan first merried to Molana Mean Mohammed Ayoub Alvi in Sindh and then to Mohammed Alahi Qureshi of Basian after divorce. She had two sons, elder was Tihllah (Khushnood) Shah and other is Makhdoom Qureshi, Imam of Nerh Masque in Upper Basian. His brother Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah twice married with ladies of Qazi tribe of Bakote and his younger brother Ashraf Shah had tied up with a lady of Union Council Plak Malkote. Her name was Zubaida Khanum.
A tale of slave orphan maternal nephew
Khushnood Ali Shah (Thillah) was also Syed Fazal H. Shah real maternal nephew but he spent all his life as a unpaid slave and laborer for his descendants. He belonged to Malaal Bagla, Sahlian, Azad kashmir and first cousin of Molvi Bashir Mughal. 

His metrnal uncle never encouraged him to be educated or a skilled person. He passed primary examination and some knowledge of religion in Tharparker, Sindh with family of Molana Mian Mohammed Ayoub Alvi (step father). He died in 1973 and buried in Upper Basian, Union Council Birote.
Death and burial
Fazal Husain Shah retired from the Education Department in Hazara in 1956 and was prescribed bed rest due to illness and asthma. He constructed a separate house, made it into a boarding house, and spent his time there. He died on 28 September 1958 and was buried at the Phawarhi na Bagla graveyard in Birote.[17]

  •  Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah was shareholder of first transport service from Rawalpindi to Srinagar, Kashmir. He was a noble person of his age and lived in Chikar, district Muzafferabad.

  • Syed Zafr ul Hak Shah is retired Pakistan People Party Activist in Rawalpindi. He was Punished in Gen. Zea Military regime in 1979 and his property was seized. His political status and property restored in Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto government in 1989. He is living self purchased house in Kelala, Lower Basian as a retired politician. He served his tribe from hook and crook as an example of Mujtaba Shah, a face copy of Thilla Shah as Pakistan Civil Aviation personal.

    راقم السطور محمد عبیداللہ علوی کے خاکی جسم میں بیروٹ کلاں کی اس ہستی کا دودھ بھی دوڑ رہا ہے جو ۔۔۔۔ ہزاروں اہل بیروٹ کے ورنیکلر پرائمری سکول کے دنیاوی استادالاستاد اور بیروٹ کے پہلے خانہ خدا مرکزی جامع مسجد کے حوالے سے روحانی قائد بھی تھے اور میری والدہ مرحومہ سمیت ان کے نصف درجن بھائیوں اور پانچ بہنوں کے والد گرامی بھی ۔۔۔۔ اس وقت وہ برادرم ذوق اختر عباسی کے گھر کے قریب اپر دیول کوہالہ روڈ پر ۔۔۔۔ پھواڑی نیں بگلہ کے قبرستان ۔۔۔۔ میں ابدی نیند سو رہے ہیں اور وہاں سے گزرنے والا ہر شخص اپنے یا اپنے لالہ ہور یا دادا جی کے استاد جی کیلئے دعائے مغفرت کئے بغیر نہیں گزرتا ۔۔۔۔۔
    اس عظیم استاد، روحانی قائد، والدہ مرحومہ کے لالہ ہور اور یہ تحریر سپرد قلم کرنے والے محمد عبیداللہ علوی کے نانا جی مرحوم کا ان کے والد نے نام نامی اسم گرامی ۔۔۔۔ سید فضؒل حسین شاہ ۔۔۔۔ رکھا تھا، وہ شب زندہ دار اور راسخ العقیدہ سنی مسلمان تھے اور  بیروٹ میں بھی کبھی انہوں نے کوئی ایسی مسلکی یا اختلافی بات نہیں کی جس سے اہل اسلام کے دلوں میں اپنے عقیدے  کے حوالے سے کوئی غلط فہمی پیدا ہوتی ۔۔۔۔ وہ تو حضرت خواجہ معین الدین اجمیریؒ کے اپنے مرشد حضرت داتا علی ہجویریؒ کے نام خراج عقیدت کی عملی تصویر اور تفسیر تھے ۔۔۔ یعنی
گنج بخش فیض عالم ،مظہر نور خدا
ناقصاں را پیر کامل، کاملاں را رہنما
    ان کے جد امجد ۔۔۔۔ جیون شاہ ۔۔۔۔ ایک گھریلو تنازعہ کا شکار ہو کرسرکل لورہ کی یو سی یا وی سی راہی سے دائمی ہجرت پر مجبور ہوئے، پہلے وہ نڑول، آزاد کشمیر آئے اور شادی بھی کی ۔۔۔۔ پھر وہاں سے ہجرت کر کے بیروٹ تشریف لائے، 1840ء کا عشرہ تھا ۔۔۔۔ بیروٹ کی للیال ڈھونڈ عباسی  برادری کے جد مجد ۔۔۔۔ سردار للی خان  ۔۔۔۔ نے انہیں اھلاً و سہلاً مرحبا کہا اور بیروٹ کی کاملال ڈھونڈ عباسی برادری کی ۔۔۔۔ علوی اعوان قبیلہ کے جد امجد  حضرت مولانامیاں قاضی  نیک محمد علویؒ ۔۔۔۔ کے استقبال، ان کی اور ان کی آئندہ نسلوں کےجان، مال اور عزت و آبرو کی سیکیورٹی کی طرح ۔۔۔ حضرت جیون شاہؒ اور ان کی اور ان کی آئندہ نسلوں کےجان، مال اور عزت و آبرو کی سیکیورٹی کی ضمانت بھی دی اور اس کا لمحہ موجود تک وعدہ بھی نبھا رہے ہیں ۔۔۔۔ ان کی تین اولادیں ہوئیں، سب سے بڑے صاحبزادہ کا نام علم دین تھا جو میری والدہ مرحومہ کے والد گرامی کے دادا جان تھے ۔۔۔۔ دوسرے (نام بجھول رہاہوں)  ہوتریڑی، بیروٹ خورد کی سہالمال ڈھونڈ عباسی برادری کے امام اور خطیب بنے، اس وقت کیلالہ، لوئر باسیاں کے سید سہراب شاہ اور سید ظفرالحق شاہ کے جد امجد کہلائے ۔۔۔۔ تیسرے بیٹے (نام یاد نہیں) بیروٹ کے پہلے ایم بی بی ایس ڈاکٹر اور بی ایچ یو کے آخری مسیحا ۔۔۔ ڈاکٹر الیاس حسین شاہ ۔۔۔۔ کے علاوہ لیاقت شاہ، امتیاز شاہ اور ناولی لوئر بیروٹ والے محمد کریم شاہ کے والد کے دادا ہور تھے ۔۔۔۔ سب کے سب سنی اور راسخ العقیدہ مسلمان اور اہل علاقہ کے روحانی و دینی پیشوا بھی تھے ۔۔۔۔
    میرے نانا جان ۔۔۔۔ سید فضل حسین شاہؒ ۔۔۔۔ نے اپنے بیٹوں اور بیٹیوں کی رشتہ داریوں کیلئے بیروٹ کے مذہبی خاندانوں کی طرف رجوع کیا ۔۔۔۔ لہتراڑ روڈ پر جھنگ سیداں کی میڈیا ٹائون کی طرف جانے والی کرپا روڈ پر ۔۔۔۔ آستانہ عالیہ مظفریہ اور اسی سے ملحق اپنے بھائیوں کیلئے بیروٹ سے اٹھا کر نیا بسایا جانے والا قبرستان ،،، جنت البقیع،،،،  نظر آوے گا ۔۔۔۔ اس مزار کے صاحب قبر اور موجود غوث زماں، جہاں سال میں چار عرس بھی ہوتے ہیں ۔۔۔۔ پیر کامل السید مظفر حسین شاہ  مرحوم ۔۔۔ کا گھر بسانے کیلئے روات مری کے دیوبندی عالم ۔۔۔۔ حضرت مولانا سعید الشمیریؒ ۔۔۔۔ کی دختر نیک اختر کو اپنی بہو بنایا ۔۔۔۔ اپنی سب سے بڑی دختر کیلئے بھن، بیروٹ خورد کی اعوان برادری کے مولانا محمد یوسف اعوان  مرحوم کو رشتہ فرزندی میں لیا ۔۔۔۔ سید فضل حسین شاہؒ ۔۔۔۔ کی دوسری صاحبزادی راقم کی والدہ ماجدہ تھی، اس سے قبل ان کی ایک ہمشیرہ ڈگری سندھ میں رہائش پذیر راقم کے تایا ۔۔۔ مولانا محمد ایوب علوی ۔۔۔ کے عقد میں تھیں ۔۔۔ نانا جان خود بھی حضرت پیر بکوٹیؒ کے سابق داماد تھے اور ان کے بعد موہڑہ، بعد میں باسیاں اور اب اسلام آباد میں آباد قریشی فیملی کے داماد بنے ۔۔۔۔ انہوں نے اپنی تیسری صاٗحبزادی کیلئے سرکل بکوٹ اور راولپنڈی کے معروف ٹیچر اور حکیم قاضی ظفیر الحق علویؒ کا انتخاب کیا، چوتھی صاحبزادی سہر حدوٹ، مری کی اعوان برادری کے عبدالرزاق اعوان کے عقد میں آئیں اور بہنوں میں صرف وہی حیات ہیں ۔۔۔۔ اس کے بعد اپنے مقدس خاندان سے باہر رشتہ دینے اور لینے کیلئے ان پر تمام مسلمان خاندان حرام ہو گئے ۔۔۔۔ کیونکہ یہی مشہدی سید تھے اور باقی مسلمان یہودیوں کے عقیدے کی طرح، ان کے نزدیک Gentile تھے ۔۔۔۔ میں Gentile  کا ترجمہ یا تشریح یہاں پر نہیں کر سکتا ، اس لئے کہ ۔۔۔۔ سید فضل حسین شاہؒ میری والدہ مرحومہ کے والد گرامی ہیں، اگر آپ علمی ضرورت محسوس کرتے ہیں تو ۔۔۔۔ آپ Gentile  کی تشریح انسائیکلو پیڈیابریٹانیکا، آکسفورڈ ڈکشنری یا فیروزالغات میں دیکھ لیں ۔
    میرے ایک پیارے سگے ماموں جان اور ہائیر سیکنڈری سکول اوسیا، مری کے سابق ٹیچر ۔۔۔۔ السید غضنفر حسین شاہ ۔۔۔۔ مری روڈ، کمیٹی چوک راولپنڈی رہتے ہیں ۔۔۔۔ الحمد للہ ۔۔۔۔ یکم سے دس محرم الحرام کے دوران کالج روڈ پر امام بارگاہ کرنل مقبول حسین نہایت عقیدت سے باقاعدہ جاتے اور ذاکرین کرام سے مصائب اہل بیت سنتے ہیں بلکہ وہاں امام عالی مقامؓ اور ان کے خانوادہ پر یزیدی مظالم سن کر گریہ کرتے بھی کرتے بیں، انہوں نے مہندی کے جلوس میں بھیشرکت کی تھی ۔۔۔۔ نویں اور دسویں محرم الحرام کی شب کرپا روڈ کی مسجد میں سجادہ نشین دربار عالیہ مظفریہ و جنت البقیع، حضرت  مولانا ذاکر حافظ سید محمد علی شاہ صاحب مصائب اہل بیت پر گزشتہ کئی برسوں سے پراثر خطاب فرماتے ہیں اور مومنین و مومنات ان کے اس ذکر سے استفادہ کرتے ہیں ۔۔۔ دسویں محرم الحرام پر دربار مظفریہ پر شام غریباں بھی برپا ہوتی ہے ۔۔۔۔ اور بیروٹ سے تعلق رکھنے والے مومنین و مومنات بھی اسی بیروٹ کے سید فضل حسین شاہؒ کے فرزند اولٰی ۔۔۔ اور میرے سب سے بڑے مرحوم و مغفور  حقیقی ماموں جان حضرت پیر السید مظفر حسین شاہؒ ۔۔۔ کے دربار سے رحمتیں اور برکتیں سمیٹنا چاہتے ہیں تو ضرور یہاں پر آئیں  ۔۔۔۔ قیام و طعام کا بہترین انتظام کیا جاتا ہے ۔ مجھ جیسے مردود حرم کو ابھی تک ماموں جان کے اس مزار سے ایسی کوئی سعادت نصیب نہیں ہو سکی ۔۔۔۔ اہل ایمان سے دعا کی درخواست ہے ۔۔۔
